From ingredient to functional market
A strategic analysis to prioritise applications, pricing and market-entry routes in high-value food.
Challenge
Although the ingredient could be applied across multiple sectors, the client needed to avoid a scattered market entry. The consultancy’s challenge was to organise its commercial potential, analyse regulatory and competitive barriers, and define which applications offered the strongest combination of attractiveness, maturity and differentiation capacity.
Solution
The consultancy developed a structured market study that combined application analysis, regulatory review, product benchmarking, and pricing assessment. Based on this information, the main opportunity sectors were compared, those with the highest strategic attractiveness were prioritised, and market-entry routes were defined for different functional positionings.
Result
The work made it possible to move from a broad application map to a prioritised commercial strategy. The client now has clear criteria to decide where to compete first, which functional positioning to explore, and how to guide future investment, development, and market-entry decisions.
