Challenge
The team had a promising solution to valorise lignocellulosic residues but needed to assess whether it made sense to enter the energy market. Arvor’s challenge was to evaluate industrial feasibility, identify the most attractive markets, and define how the proposal could fit into a sector dominated by well-established technological routes.
Solution
A technological and market benchmarking was conducted to position the innovation against consolidated HVO production routes based on waste oils and fats. Arvor analysed the value chain, feedstock limitations, and emerging business models, identifying opportunities for progressive integration and a viable transfer strategy.
Result
The project clarified how the innovation could fit within the HVO ecosystem, identifying real opportunities in light of current feedstock constraints. As a result, the team now has a clear strategic vision, a prioritised development roadmap, and solid criteria to move forward towards industrial validation and discussions with potential partners.
