Óscar holds a PhD in Chemistry from IQS and discovered his scientific vocation at an early stage. He specialized in molecular simulation and computational modeling methods, with a thesis focused on their future industrial application. This vision materialized at Laboratorios Salvat, where he established the molecular modeling department.
Throughout his career, Óscar has naturally combined science, industry, and business. His technical background was complemented by a Master’s in Business Management and later by studies in bioinformatics. It was at this intersection that he developed a strong affinity for technology transfer and entrepreneurship.
With a solid scientific foundation and a clear market perspective, he has led projects in startups, international expansion processes, and worked as an independent consultant across diverse fields such as preclinical research, generic drug licensing, and the internationalization of nutraceuticals, consistently navigating dynamic environments with resilience and creativity.
It was precisely during one of these stages, while sharing workspace with other entrepreneurs, that what is now Arvor emerged organically. His close collaboration with Juan —co-founder— and their complementary backgrounds enabled them to shape the foundation of the current project in 2019.
Today, Óscar combines his scientific expertise with strong business acumen and a high level of empathy. He particularly enjoys working on projects with rigorous, committed, and scientifically driven stakeholders, and has a natural affinity for the healthcare sector, while remaining open to other emerging technological fields.
Those who work with him highlight his rigorous approach, his ability to adapt to different contexts, and his honesty in delivering critical and constructive insights.
Beyond Arvor, Óscar is driven by a broader social motivation: contributing to a more professional, robust, and better-aligned technology transfer ecosystem in Catalonia and Spain, in line with the country’s scientific potential. He strongly believes in the transformative role of initiatives like Arvor, the need for proactive public policies, and the importance of strengthening the connection between science and industry. For him, every project represents not only an opportunity to contribute knowledge, but also to ensure that innovation reaches where it can generate real impact.
