Challenge
The customer developed the biological tech to reduce the emissions of rusts of nitrogen (NOx) at industrial processes. Nevertheless, it needed to assess his feasibility in the market, analyse the regulatory panorama, identify key sectors and define a strategy of effective commercialisation. Besides, it was fundamental to select the most adapted countries for the national phase of the patent, assuring protection at strategic regions with a high potential for adoption.
Solution
Realised an analysis of the market to assess tech competitors, environmental regulations, and industrial sectors that had the most impact. Through interviews with stakeholders, barriers to adoption and strategic opportunities were identified. Based on these surveys, defined criteria of appraisal are used to determine the country’s priorities at the national phase of the patent, considering factors such as the bulk of emissions NOx, ambient regulation, and the industrial and potential presence of implementation of the tech.
Result
Identified key industries like cement, steel, and energy generation where NOx could significantly impact. It established a strategy of commercialization and a sheet of path for industrial validation using pilot projects. As a part of the strategy of protection of intellectual property, defined a listing of countries for the national phase of the patent, prioritising markets with tall emissions and rules
