Innovative Phototherapy for Tumors
A research team develops a molecule with great potential for light-activated cancer therapies.
Challenge
To support a research team with solid preclinical results in translating their scientific proposal into a real transfer opportunity. Through strategic mentoring, the goal was to empower the team to protect and valorize the invention, identify priority therapeutic indications, anticipate key clinical and regulatory criteria, and build a strong technological narrative for the industry.
Solution
Through action-oriented mentoring sessions, the team was guided to understand market requirements and develop a robust technological narrative. Interviews with industry stakeholders were conducted, detailed benchmarking was carried out, and potential industrial partners were explored—laying the foundation for a realistic vision of future project transfer.
Result
As a result of this collaborative effort, a concrete and realistic action plan has been defined to move the project toward technology transfer. This roadmap includes the expansion of in vivo studies with extended follow-up, the initial design of a proprietary light device, detailed analysis of the cell death mechanism, and identification of key industrial partners, all aligned with clinical criteria and biomedical sector requirements.

“As a result of this collaborative effort, a concrete and realistic action plan has been defined to move the project toward technology transfer.”
