BIOCEL – from organic waste to biofabricated filaments
How an innovative fermentation process turns agro-industrial waste into high-performance ecological yarn
Challenge
A technology center needed to validate and scale an emerging technology that produces bacterial cellulose filaments from organic waste. They sought support to analyze the market, define a commercial roadmap, address scalability challenges, and identify short-term viable applications.
Solution
Arvor conducted a sustainable fibers market analysis, studied comparable cases, defined a clear value proposition, and designed a business model focused on biodegradable agricultural applications as a first step toward the textile market. Meetings were also held with industrial process scalability experts, and the key phases for the future scaling process were identified.
Result
The project concluded with a clear strategy to launch a minimum viable product to access a market, a phased industrialization plan, and the identification of a high-potential bridge market: compostable horticultural meshes, accelerating the path toward a future spin-off.

“The key phases for the future scaling process were identified.”
