PhD in Chemistry by IQS, Óscar discovered his scientific vocation early on. He specialized in computational simulation and calculation methods, with a thesis focused on their future application in industry. His vision became a reality at Laboratoris Salvat, where he created the molecular modeling department.
Throughout his career, Óscar has naturally combined science, industry, and business. His technical background was complemented by a master’s degree in business management and later by studies in bioinformatics. It was at this crossroads that he discovered his affinity for technology transfer and entrepreneurship. With a solid scientific foundation and market vision, he has led projects in startups, internationalization processes, and worked as a freelancer in sectors as diverse as preclinical research, generic drug licensing, or the internationalization of nutritional supplements, always facing changing environments with resilience and creativity.
It was precisely in one of those moments, while sharing a workspace with other entrepreneurs, that what is now Arvor began to take shape almost organically. His closeness with Juan —founding partner— and their complementary experience allowed them to shape the core of the current project in 2019.
Today, Óscar combines his scientific background with a solid business vision and strong empathetic abilities. He especially enjoys projects where the counterpart is rigorous, committed, and scientifically minded, and he feels a particular affinity for health-related topics, without excluding other emerging technological areas. Those who work with him highlight his rigorous approach, his ability to adapt to different contexts, and his honesty when offering critical and constructive analysis.
Beyond the Arvor project, Óscar remains clearly motivated: to help make the technology transfer ecosystem in Catalonia and Spain more professional, more robust, and more aligned with the country’s research potential. He firmly believes in the transformative role of initiatives like Arvor, the need to promote proactive public policies, and the importance of better connecting science with the business fabric. For him, every project is an opportunity not only to contribute knowledge but to ensure innovation reaches the places where it can truly make an impact.
